Singleton Family History
Singleton's Southern Sweet Treats, Inc. is inspired by the gifts of three aunties: Aunt Annie, Aunt Luvenia, and Aunt Sally. These aunts along with two others: Aunt Laura and Aunt Jackie, were the de facto Singleton family matriarchs in California. This means they together constructed a village that would provide a support system for generations of Singletons relocated to the West. They played the role of mother to each other's children and all Singleton lineage in California, as well as father for those who did not have one present. It is their leadership and guidance that has developed a network of successful Singleton offspring and their distinct development of flavors that sets us apart.
In the Singleton family you will find a history rich with struggle, change, and perseverance. In Hazlehurst, Mississippi, Ruby and Shug Singleton began and eventually grew our family to include at least 19 children. Of these children, the passion of southern cuisine resonated with a few of them and a number of us have become professional chefs. However, after years of sharing our family's flavors with each other over holidays and special occasions, we are sharing this passion with the world. Singleton's Southern Sweet Treats, Inc. produces fresh, quality sweet treats, inspired by the refined flavors of the South.
Having set up roots in the Inland Empire and San Gabriel Valley, our commercial kitchen is located in Chino, California and our business office is located in West Covina, CA. Neither of which are open to the public without an appointment.
